Ekiti State has one of the best potentials for development in Nigeria and when those potentials are put into physical diagnose and eventual exploit, the state will emerge as one of the most developed in Nigeria.
An aspirant to the state House of Assembly and, and a human right activist Evangelist Segun Erinle who made the remark recently claimed that what has actually hampered the progress of the state in recent years is lack of a will power and definite plan by the current Ekiti state government to put those assets into focus and materialisation.
He claimed the wheels of progress of the state have long been stuck and what people see is mere cosmetic decoration to deceive the people of the state.
According to the Ekiti state House of Assembly aspirant, changes are imminent as long as the people are ready to open their eyes to see clearly that the current government is empty and visionless and bereft of ideas.
Speaking recently during and interview, the legal practitioner who is also a top clergyman in a London based Pentecostal Church urged the Ekitians to open their eyes wide as we approach the poll in 2011 so that they can effect a change by picking the right type in the right place to manage their governance.
He lambasted the government of People’s Democratic Party claiming the party has no definite plan for the common man in the state.
He made particular reference to the disunity pervading in the national tlevel of the party to attest to the selfishness which had formed the core centre of the PDP’s deception of the people claimed the party only crave for personal ambitions.
He queried: Can a party which lacks unity at a Federal level give anything positive to the people ?
He described PDP as a party of visionless perambulators who coin words together to deceive the people adding that since governor Segun Oni has joined the party, he has refused to listen to the agitation of the peole, claiming it’s a very sad development.
On job creation, the Assembly aspirant said:” The problem with the current occupier of Ekiti remains the fact that they rigged themselves into government hence they have no plans for the common Ekiti man, we would encourage the private sector to create jobs in Ekiti by providing incentives for them to come to Ekiti.
He decried a situation whereby the nation is being brought into ridicule in the presence of the international community through the deception witnessed recently as PDP covers up the extent of the nation’s leaders ailment so that they can control power using the name of the president.
This is shameful for a country of over 150million people.
He continued:“I see no changes in as much as the country is still being run by the PDP. The PDP as a party has no plans for this country. Take for example how long it takes them to accept a fellow PDP as the Vice President of the country. The country cannot move forward until the PDP is removed from power and a government that cares about the welfare of the people is able to run the country.
Mr Erinle, who is contesting under Action Congress has vowed to channel a new direction of change for Ekiti House of Assembly pledging to lay a better foundation and direction for the state through activities in the state House of Assembly.”
Speaking on the industrial development of the state, the legal practitioner said”We would encourage the private sector to create jobs in Ekiti by providing incentives for them to come to Ekiti.
We have a lot of Ekiti people in industries who are prepared to settle back in Ekiti but because they don’t trust the current illegal occupiers in the state. They cannot invest but they have assured us that we can be trusted hence they would be willing to assist us by investing in Ekiti, they would build industries in Ekiti, they would pay taxes to the government they would create jobs in Ekiti.
Responding to question as to weither a Fayemi led government in Ekiti state would rebuild the ailing Ikun diary farms, he responded: “I think Dr Fayemi would review the entire process in the diary farm and come out with the best approach on what to do. Be rest assured that an AC led government would show transparency in the affairs of ikun diary farm and the farm would be profitable in the first year of a government led by Dr Fayemi.
Speaking on his political ambition and the expectation of the people, Evangelist Erinle said the we would have a government being led by an International person who knows the expectations of the Ekiti people, the expectations of the International community on him, so failure is out of the way.
We would surpass the achievement of Fasola in Lagos adding:”We would allocate resources to areas that requires it and avoid wastage and corruption.
